Welcome To My Program

CodeMasterCoachs’ Medical Coding Program prepares students for the  American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC’s) Certified Professional Coder (CPC) exam.

This program prepares students with no knowledge of medical coding to progress to an entry level medical coding job in the outpatient setting.

I offer two modes of training:

Full-Class Mode:  In this mode, the students take the class along with classmates, with designated start and end dates.  They learn as a group and meet weekly on zoom as they progress through the class.

Independent Mode:  In this mode, the students are allowed to take their classes independently.  Independent Mode is not recommended until after the student has completed Medical Coding Level 1.

Exciting News!

The AAPC has approved my program for one full year of apprentice status.  What does that mean to my students?  After passing their national CPC exam, they only have to complete one year of apprenticeship status (CPC-A) rather than the required two years.

Introduction To Medical Terminology:  Introduces the student to the “language of medicine”.  Students must take this course prior to Medical Coding Level 1. This course is 12-weeks long and everything you need is included in the course. (e.g. no textbook needed)

Medical Coding Level 1:  This is the “foundational” course for medical coding.  This course teaches the student how to use their code books, the coding guidelines, and the rules to coding.  This course requires a code book and a workbook.  It is 12-weeks long.

Medical Coding Level 2:  This is the next level of medical coding, after Medical Coding Level 1.   In this course we review specific body systems and apply the coding guidelines to these body systems.  This course is 12-weeks long.

Introduction To CPT:  Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) is a classification used to code physician services.  This course is 12-weeks long.

Medical Coding Level 3:  This is the final coding course.  This course brings all of our coding classifications together to show how healthcare services are captured for reimbursement.  This course is 12-weeks long.

Medical Billing & Reimbursement:  This course teaches how to submit claims to third-party payers. Some medical coders only perform the medical coding, but others are required to complete the medical coding and submit the claims for reimbursement.  This course teaches the students how to submit and follow through with claims submission.  This code is 12-weeks long.

Review for National Certification:  The goal of this course is to teach the student to sit for up to 5 hours and 40 minutes and code.  I call this the “marathon course”.  Students learn to build their stamina for coding.  This course is 12-weeks long.
